SomaDynamics began originally to develop a software tool for analysing seat comfort for the automotive industry. To do this SomaDynamics developed SOMAKIN software, an interface that combines digital manikin programs such as Jack ® and Ramsis with Anybody Technology. With Somakin, SomaDynamics can produce simulated environments to understand and test the biomechanics of the people that work in and use objects in a given environment. This can be used in the manufacturing and automotive industry to create human centric design both for the end product and for manufacturing processes. Somakin has been used previously in collaboration with Ford to ascertain biometric forces when applying a vehicle handbrake.
